Master Hamidi Passes Away

TEHRAN - Renowned Iranian master painter Javad Hamidi passed away on Sunday, March 17.

Hamidi was born in Hamedan in 1918. He finished school in his hometown and entered Tehran University of Fine Arts to study painting.

Thereafter, he traveled to France to continue his studies at Paris Fine Arts (Beaux-Arts) University, where he received a Ph.D and then returned to Iran to work.

He had held several exhibitions in Iran and foreign countries and was teaching at several art universities. He had worked in several different styles including experimental styles.
